Trip to the Cupcakery

Stopped by the Cupcakery today for some Valentine's treats for us! And mmm were they good!

We really wanted Olive Garden for our dinner tonight, but opted not waiting an hour for food.  Instead we found a pizzeria that was pretty good.  And on our way home we stopped to get me some weights! I was pretty excited about this.  Anything to motivate me to exercise.

I can't think of a better way to celebrate Valentine's day than to dissect the heart itself...

 I'm taking the second half of anatomy and physiology from UAS(Alaska).  It's an online class which is really cool since it let's me keep a full-time job.  We have live classes(online) once a week and it's as if you were really in the classroom.  You can raise your hand, ask questions, draw on the board..etc. It's pretty neat.  Since the lab is included, they mail different "stuff" to you now and then to dissect.  Then we take pictures and upload them to a blog for credit.  Seemed a little ironic that this weekend it was a sheep's heart.  I wish I could have taken pictures of Matt.  Haha, he had his jacket zipped over his face.. it really didn't smell THAT bad.  Somehow I talked him into letting me stay in the house vs. the freezing garage.  Here's some of the action:

Lasagna everyday!

You know you have a good husband when you come home from a long day at work to find he's made homemade lasagna(sauce and all)!  And not only did he make it, but he made it GOOD!  I was so impressed.  Made me feel like I could do a little better in the dinner making department.  We've been eating it all week.. it's hard to cook for just two sometimes :)

 
A little while ago, Matt showed me this site about family search indexing.  If you haven't heard about it, you should definitely check it out.  It's one way you can help with geneology.  The Church gathers records from around the world and enters them in a computer base.  Your job is to help transcribe the images(name, birth date, address..etc).  I found it to be a great thing to do on my Sundays(while Matt's working).  Sometimes they are hard to read, so you have to zoom in and decipher them.  It's a little addicting, but I love feeling my time is not wasted.  It's also fun to learn a little about these families.  Here's a look at what I'm working on.. it's a 1930 census from Minnesota:

I do, however, have to remind myself that homework does come first.  Sometimes I rationalize what I'm doing here as an excuse to get out of school work.  School work that I have already threatened to quit many times.  Fortunately Matt is here to remind me everyday the reasons I should keep going.  Even though I have one of the dumbest instructors ever! ... but we'll save that for it's own post.
