My birthday was on the 10th and I loved all the singing voicemails I received from friends and family! Especially the nieces and nephews :) I worked all day but was able to take lunch with Matt at a crepe shack close by. They serve any kind of crepe you can think of and it's all so delicious! Later that night we went out to an italian restaurant called Tarentinos. It was AWESOME and I can't wait to go back sometime. We took some cheescake to go and headed home.
When we got home, I skyped my family and watched as they had birthday brownies and sung to me(We didn't think to take a picture at this point). It was kind of mean because everyone got some but me. Luckily, the cheesecake filled my craving. It was fun to pretend we were in the same room together and I really felt we were! My family thought it was fun to be on camera... especially my dad and Anne. "Say cheese!!" You can see just how dusty our computer screen is.
Matt got me tickets to the last REAL soccer game for when we get home(he knows how much I love those games), some smartwool socks, and a new chi!! It was much needed and I'm glad he caught on to my hints for one :) He sure did spoil me this year and I love him for that. Other presents came from his family and included a gorilla pod for our camera(I can't wait to use this more outside!) and some exercise attire that I also love. Hopefully they are enough motivation to get movin! Some cute shirts came from Oregon(Holly&Jon) and Tay was so kind to draw a picture for me :)
Other than the birthday, my life has been too much consumed by school and work. I am so glad to have a job, but at times I wonder why I have be there so much. For two reasons I will keep going- to make money and stay sane. School has also taken a lot of time also and I find myself waking early to create the time for it. It's just one class- an online human anatomy/physiology course from University Alaska. And it's not called a condensed intensive course for nothin! The lab portion is also done online. So far it has been an awesome summer this with temps in the 70's and 80's. Locals say it has been one of the best. Well it looks like our luck might be changing. It has been pouring rain the last few days. But nothing beats looking outside your window at the end of the day to this... I love this place.
